In 1 Samuel 7:1-14, during a time when Israel experiences revival under the leadership of Samuel, the nation repents of their sins and begins to seek the Lord. As the people Samuel gathered gave their hearts
to repentance and renewal, the enemy attacked, but God “thundered” with supernatural help. To commemorate that divine victory, Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, naming it Ebenezer;
saying, “Thus far the LORD has helped us”. Ebenezer meant “stone of help”. Thereafter, every time an Israelite saw this stone, it would serve as a reminder of God’s power, provision, and protection.
Mother Teresa dedicated her life to serving the poorest of the poor. She once said, "I alone cannot change the world but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples."
Today, the Knights of Columbus Council 12228 at Mount St. Francis, are announcing our first ever pledge-driven fundraiser to help support 40 Days for Life. We're asking you to open your
hearts, pick up your Ebenezer stones and cast them across the waters in front of Planned Parenthood in prayer and support as a reminder of God’s love, provision, and protection for the unborn.
100% of all donations/pledges collected in this fundraiser will be passed on to our local 40 Days For Life organization.
How can I help? There are two ways to participate in this fundraiser. The first is by signing up to stand and pray in vigil on the sidewalk near Planned Parenthood. The second is by pledging your support for those standing in vigil.
How do I sign up to stand in vigil?
Please visit the official 40 Days for Life sign up page where you'll log in (creating an account if needed) and then use the
Colorado Springs Campaign calendar to commit to days and hours you wish to stand in vigil.
Important: The official 40 Days for Life calendar will be the source of truth for calculating amounts due from vigil Pledgers based on coverage hours. You MUST sign up on the official 40 Days for Life
campaign calendar for your hours to count towards total coverage hours.
Pledging is as easy as clicking the "PLEDGE" button below and filling out the pledge form. We will use your email address (or phone number if you don't have an email address) to follow up with pledge collections after the 40 day campaign ends and we tally up the total hours that vigil participants stood and prayed.
PLEDGEHow does pledging to support those standing in vigil work?
The campaign is 40 days long. People can sign up to stand in vigil 24 hours per day, over 40 days. The maximum campaign coverage possible (40 days x 24 hours) is 960 hours. Pledgers are committing to
pennies per hour of actual coverage.
For example, if Father Ken pledges .05 cents/hr, the amount due after the campaign would be some amount between $0 and $48). If the end of the 40 day campaign resulted in 480 hours of actual vigil
coverage, then Father Ken would owe (.05 cents x 480 hours) a total of $24.
Here's a quick chart showing pledge amounts due based on 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% vigil hour coverage:
